What We Do
Our Work. Our Mission. Our Commitment.
The Ballah K. Davis Sr. Foundation carries forward a legacy rooted in faith, service, education, compassion, and hope.
Long before there was a foundation bearing his name, the late Hon. Ballah K. Davis Sr. believed that every child deserved to be safe, cared for, educated, and given an opportunity to build a better future.
In the early 1960s, Hon. Davis opened his home to underprivileged boys from villages in his native Lofa County and, eventually, from communities across Liberia. What began as an act of compassion grew into a lifelong commitment to children whose circumstances might otherwise have limited their opportunities.
Following his marriage in 1972, that vision expanded to include girls, transforming the Davis family home into a place of refuge, learning, faith, and hope for young people. During periods of instability and war in Liberia, this commitment became even more meaningful. When children and families faced uncertainty, displacement, poverty, and loss, the Davis home represented something powerful: a safe place where children could still dream.

Today, the Ballah K. Davis Sr. Foundation continues that calling.
Guided by the belief that to whom much is given, much is required, we seek to serve children, families, and communities with dignity and compassion. We believe faith must be demonstrated through action—by feeding the hungry, educating the child, supporting the family, comforting those experiencing hardship, and creating opportunities where hope may have been lost.
Our work is centered on helping vulnerable and underserved children and families, particularly those affected by poverty, conflict, displacement, and limited access to education and essential resources.
Through education, youth development, community support, humanitarian assistance, mentorship, and faith-inspired service, we strive to create pathways toward stability, opportunity, and self-sufficiency.
We are not simply preserving the memory of Ballah K. Davis Sr. We are continuing the work he started.
